Vēsturnieks S.Saharovs 1939. gadā izdotajā grāmatā "Pareizticīgo baznīcas Latgalē" atzīmējis, ka Jasmuižas pareizticīgo baznīca uzbūvēta 1904. gadā ar muižnieka Grigorija Kuzņecova un viņa dēla Ņikitas gādību. No valsts kases saņemta palīdzība 4500 rubļu apmērā. Tā paša gada 8. jūlijā dievnams iesvētīts Jaunavas Marijas godam. Mūra celtnes izmēri 22 x 5 m, ar diviem kupoliem un zvanu torni. Uz 1938. gada 1. janvāri baznīcēnu skaits ir bijis 142 cilvēki, kas dzīvo tuvākā un tālākā apkaimē, pat līdz 20 kilometriem tālu.
