The memorial sign for August Bielenstein (1826–1907), a theologian, linguist, folklorist, and ethnographer of German origin, was inaugurated in 2007. August Bielenstein was the pastor of the German congregation in Dobele for almost 40 years, starting from 1867. Author of the memorial sign – Jānis Kukša.
