Description
Mujānu pils bijusi Rīgas arhibīskapa vasaļa pils. Spriežot pēc vēstures avotu sniegtajām ziņām, Mujānu pils celta laikā starp 1473. g., kad tur vēl minēta muiža, un 1503. g., kad dokumentos sastopams pils apzīmējums. 1555. g. Livonijas piļu sarakstā Mujānu pils nosaukta par arhibīskapa vasaļu Rozenu mantotu īpašumu. 1601. g. pavasarī pili ieņēma zviedri, bet jau 1601. jūlijā to atkaroja poļi. Vēlāk gan zviedri Mujānu pili atguva. 1633. g. tika plānots pili nostiprināt. Tiek pieļauta doma, ka pils sagrauta Ziemeļu kara laikā. 19. gs. no Mujānu pils bija palikušas tikai drupas, izņemot Balto torni vairāku stāvu augstumā, un nebija vairs iespējams saskatīt apkārtmūra plānojumu. Pils pēdējais īpašnieks grāfs Morics Mengdens 19. gs. otrajā pusē licis Baltā torņa otrā stāva velvi noklāt ar cementa betonu.
