Description
Pirmā Izvaltas koka baznīca uzcelta 1625. g. To par saviem līdzekļiem uzcēla muižnieks A. Lackis un nodeva Daugavpils jezuītiem. Izvaltā izveidojās jezuītu misija. 1896. g. prāvesta A. Balteja vadībā tika uzcelta tag. mūra baznīca (konsekrēta 1897. g.). Izvaltas draudzē ir ap 1000 ticīgo. Centrālajā baznīcas altārī atrodas glezna, kurā attēlota Sv. Anna ar Jaunavu Mariju, tāpēc vieni no svarīgākajiem svētkiem Izvaltā ir Annas diena.
Izvaltā ir 2. pas. karā kritušo kapi, pie Izvaltas baznīcas - krusts ar piemiņas plāksni.
