1949. g. 25. martā padomju varas iestādes no Skrundas pagasta izsūtīja 228 iedzīvotājus. Pie Skrundas dzelzceļa stacijas 1998. g. uzstādīts piemiņas akmens un vagona muzejs, drūmo 1941. un 1949. g. notikumu kā arī staļinisko represiju atcerei. Vagona atslēgas var saņemt stacijā.
