Description
Pareizticīgo draudze Alūksnē darbojas kopš 1845. gada. Līdz 1848. gadam pareizticībā pārgāja 1663 alūksniešu. 1873. gadā baronese Helēna fon Fītinghofa piešķīra draudzei muižas zemi, bet 1895. gadā tur tika uzcelta baznīca. Tā celta eklektisma stilā. Ap 1930. gadu draudzē bija 1180 locekļu un dievkalpojumu noturēja latviešu, igauņu un krievu valodās. Altāra daļu grezno divu līmeņu ikonostass, kā arī nelieli sānu altāri ar 19.gadsimta beigu un 20.gadsimta sākuma ikonām un svēto tēliem.
