“Jaunkemeri” is located in Jurmala, 36 km away from Riga, in the unique resort environment, which combines the reserved environmental entirety: the Riga Gulf, the sand beach, the pinewood, pure air, sulfurated, bromide and sodium chloride mineral water, peat and sapropelic therapeutic muds. All these in combination make the resort a healing and a unique one. Built in 1967 the “Jaunkemeri” Center in a single closed complex is an efficient complex of treatment and recreation. The Resort – Rehabilitation Center “Jaunkemeri” is completely privatized and it is a certified medical establishment (LR Certificate No. R-9 of 14.02.2000). It applies the richest natural healing properties for treatment of heart and peripheral vascular diseases, musculoskeletal system, vertebras diseases, urologic and gynecologic diseases, metabolic diseases, digestive organs, obesity. Treatment of patients with orthopedic disorders is possible. The RRC “Jaunkemeri” functions throughout the year. Patients take multiple treatments everyday (including Saturdays and Sundays) that can reduce duration of cure. The RRC “Jaunkemeri” is composed of a sanatorium for 429 places in operation and of an object under construction. The functional health center – is a well-equipped complex made of two interconnected buildings: a 9-storey sleeping accommodation with all conveniences and an outpatient clinic. On the 9th floor of this building there is a conference hall, a bar and a library. On the 2nd floor there is the administration service, a kiosk and souvenirs, a room of medical cosmetology. On the 1st floor there is a reception service, a bar, a cinema and concert hall and dance halls, a canteen. Heat-insulated passages lead from the sleeping accommodation to the medical building, where on the 1st floor there are the therapeutic mud baths, the balneary, a pool with a cascade, saline cave, a mechanotherapy room and a phytobar. On the second floor of the medical building there is a dental room, dentoprosthetic rehabilitation, clinical and biochemical laboratories, X-ray department , massage rooms, physiotherapy department, physical therapy rooms equipped with the newest ultrasonic, laser and magnetotherapy medical apparatus, a room of functional diagnostics, therapeutic exercises, surgery, a room of a social worker and a psychologist. Recreation and treatment at the RRC “Jaunkemeri” – this is a pleasure, apparent benefit for health and positive emotions.
