CHRISTMAS GIFT FAIR

Christmas is a joyful celebration with snow, gifts, carols and good words for your friends and kin. We advise you to have a closer look at what is created around us by locals so as not to waste time or get lost amid supermarket shelves when looking for suitable presents for our dearest ones.

It is the third year running that the Society of Kandava Craftsmen in collaboration with Kandava Commission of Culture is setting up a unique market show Christmas Gift Fair.

The market will offer over 3000 singular handmade designs of top quality. Artists, craftsmen and home manufacturers have been toiling away in order to produce nice Christmas presents for all of us : paintings, leather articles like bags, belts, and gloves; earthenware – bowls, casseroles, vases, jugs and candlesticks; trendy knitwear – mittens, beanies, scarves; large and small wickerwork; articles for children – wooden toys, heuristic games, bright pajamas and warm hats; commodities for men – metal forgings, woodwork; all sorts of goodies – honey, jams, chutneys, candied peel, gingerbread cakes, distinctive tree decorations, greetings cards and so forth.

The Christmas Gift Fair will take place in the art gallery of Kandava province museum. Our dwarfs will help you assemble and wrap the presents. At the same time you will have the opportunity to get to know more about the history of Kandava at the big bank safe of the USSR – the Red Corner, as well as visit the tavern where the amiable barmaids will treat you to coffee and other snacks. At the cinema room - the stories of Kandava vicinity, etc., etc.

Gift Wrapping, Paper Printing and Box Bending without scissors and glue - 2 EUR per person

Adornment Workshop - 2 EUR per person – on demand

On the Promenade you will see the great town tree and the parade of young fir trees.

Sunday and December 24 – 25 closed
