Lai gan Odzienas novads bijis apdzīvots jau senatnē, par ko liecina senlietu atradumi muižas teritorijā, kas datēti ar vidējo dzelzs laikmetu ( 5. – 9. gs.) un saistāmi ar seno latgaļu kultūru, Odzienas vārds Odenze vai Odse rakstītajos vēstures avotos pirmo reizi minēts 1455. gadā.
Tagad, pateicoties muižas jauno saimnieku uzņēmībai, entuziasmam un vēstures mīlestībai, ir uzsākta Odzienas muižas kompleksa rekonstrukcija. Atdzimis iepriekš degradētais muižas krogs - tajā kopš 2012. gada darbojas viesu nams (Krogusmāja), kurā tiek klāti arī svinību un godu galdi, pilnībā atjaunota arī pienotava, kura nu kalpo kā brūzis (Pilsbrūzis), dārznieka māja un mantu klēts. Veikti būtiski teritorijas labiekārtošanas darbi. Pati pils ēka pamazām atgūst savu iepriekšējo spozmi - ēkas labajam spārnam atjaunots jumta segums, un piecās atjaunotajās zālēs 2015. gada pavasarī jau nosvinētas pirmās kāzas.
Plānots, ka ap 2020. gadu Odzienas pils būs skatāma jau atjaunotā vēsturiskajā veidolā.
