Latvijā vienīgā luterāņu baznīca, kurai nav torņa. Baznīcai četrslīpju jumts, bet divi zvani novietoti zem koka jumtiņa pie galvenās ieejas.
Pirmā Užavas luteriskā baznīca celta 1616.g. no koka. Pēc ugunsgrēka 1747.g. uzcelta jauna koka baznīca, kad tā kļuva par mazu, 1783.g. uzcēla tagadējo laukakmeņu baznīcu. Saglabājušies divi interesanti 1784.g. vēja rādītāji, uz kuriem ir burti PHC, kas liecina, ka tā celta pēc hercoga Pētera Bīrona pavēles. Pašreizējais altāris (altārglezna “Kristus”) un kancele kopš 19.gs.
