Description
Liepupes (Pernigeles) baznīca atrodas Jelgavkrastos, tā celta laikā no 1777. līdz 1783. gadam. Baznīca ir neparasta ar īpatnējo zvanu torņa novietojumu - sānos. Tāpēc altāris nav baznīcas malā, bet gan vidū; kancele atrodas virs altāra un mācītājs dievkalpojuma laikā ir draudzes vidū. 1971. gada 29. novembrī baznīcā izcēlies ugunsgrēks, kurā sadegusi baroka stila baznīcas iekārta, ērģeles, arhīvs. 1989. gadā uzsākta atjaunošana - Liepupes baznīcas atjaunošana bija dzejnieka Imanta Ziedoņa ideja. 1999. gada 22. maijā iesvētīja atjaunoto baznīcu.
