Kārlis Ulmanis had planted the oak-tree that grows in front of the school so that it could be seen from the classroom window, where he himself had once sat as a child. According to the measurements taken by researcher Guntis Eniņš, its height is 17 m, the circumference of the trunk – 2.82 m, and it grows in with by 3.6 cm every year.
