Sabiles evaņģēliski luteriskā baznīca Abavas ielejas labajā krastā bijusi jau 16. gadsimtā. Vairākkārt pārbūvēta. Tagadējo veidolu ar romāņu stila iezīmēm celtne ieguva 1876. gadā. Vienjoma garenbūve ar altārdaļu, sakristeju un kvadrātveida torni ar piramidālu noslēgumu. Interjera lielākais dārgums ir kancele (16. gs. b.,n1676), kas saglabājusies no sākotnējās 16. gadsimta iekārtas manierisma stilā un ir senākais Latvijas luterāņu baznīcu iekārtas priekšmets. Vācu meistara F. Volfa (F. Wolf) darinātā altārglezna «Kristus pie krusta» (1860) barbariski izzagta, atgūta, restaurēta (1996) un, no jauna iesvētīta, atkal ir baznīcas altārī. Soli arngotiskā stila iezīmēm ir 19. gadsimta 2. puses darbs. Interesants ir kapakmens ar mājas zīmi. Unikāls ir baznīcā saglabātais 1450.ngadā lietais zvans, kura skaņas vēl šodien aicina uz ik svētdienas dievkalpojumu, un 1651. gada vējrādis baznīcas tornī.
