Vecumnieku pagasta novadpētniecības centrs dibināts 1997. gada 11. novembrī. Tas atrodas Vecumnieku pagasta Sarkanajā skolā. Centra telpa iekārtota toreizējā skolas pārziņa Andreja Spekkes dzīvokļa viesistabā (te līdz 10 gadu vecumam auga latviešu izcilais zinātnieks, vēsturnieks, diplomāts Arnolds Spekke).
Vecumnieku pagasta novadpētniecības centra ekspozīcijā plašs materiālu klāsts par Arnoldu Spekki, viņa diplomāta darbu ārzemēs, viņa sarakstītās grāmatas.
Kā arī daudz materiālu par Vecumnieku pusē dzīvojošā Visvalda Klīves ģimeni, viņu bēgļu gaitām un profesora atgriešanos Latvijā 1990. gadā, kā arī viņa izdotās grāmatas.
Aplūkojams stends par senatni, materiāli par Pirmā Pasaules kara un Otrā Pasaules kara notikumiem, deportācijām. Ieskats pagasta pašdarbnieku kolektīvu darbībā un sporta aktivitātēs Vecumniekos. Aplūkojama izstāde par Sarkano skolu – 125 gadu garumā.
