Description
Tagadējās Vestienas muižas vietā bijusi lauku nocietinājumskanste. 18. gadsimtā skanstes vietā uzcelts vērienīgais Vestienas muižas komplekss. Aizsarggrāvji tika pārveidoti par gleznainiem dīķiem.Vestienas muiža dibināta 1452. gada 24. jūnijā un saukusies par "Heinricha Tolka muiža pie apcietinājuma". Bijušie īpašnieki: 18.gs. vidū muiža piederēja baronam fon Igelstrēmam, bet 1787.g. to nopērk K. fon Stadens. 19.gs. vidū tā ir barona fon Brumera īpašums. No 20.gs.sāk. līdz 1909.g. muižas īpašnieks ir fon Vormana dzimta.Pēdējais muižas īpašnieks bija Aleksandrs Rušmanis. No 1920.g. kungu mājā atradās lauksaimniecības, bet vēlāk mehanizācijas skola. Kopš 1960.g. te atrodas Vestienas pamatskola. Muižas teritorijā 17.gs. starp zviedru un poļu īpašumiem atradās militārs nocietinājums - skanste, ko ietvēra ar ūdeni pildītu aizsarggrāvju sistēma. Pēc Ziemeļu kara tā zaudēja savu militāro nozīmi un uz šo vietu pārcēlās muižas centrs. Pirmā apbūve veidojās 18.gs. vidū.Parādes pagalmu ietver grāvji, aiz kuriem iebraucamā ceļa abās pusēs būvēts stallis un klēts ar lieveņa arkādi. Kungu māja celta pretī iebraucamam ceļam uz kādreizējās munīcijas noliktavas pagrabiem. Domājams, tās zelminī atradās akmenī kaltais fon Igelstrēmu dzimtas ģerbonis, kuru pēc īpašnieku maiņas noņēma un iebūvēja jaunuzceltās kalpu mājas zelminī. 19.gs. 1.pusē kungu mājai galos piebūvē jaunus, divstāvīgus korpusus un lieveni, kā rezultātā, ēka iegūst vēlā klasicisma stila iezīmes. Ēka pārbūvēta 20.gs. sākumā pēc 1905.g.ugunsgrēka. Parks veidots 19.gs. vidū kā romantisks ainavu parks ar lapeni un suņa kapakmeni ezera krastā.
