Description
Celta seno latgaļu pilskalnā, uz kura 1339. – 1340.g. Rīgas arhibīskaps uzcēla mūra pili ar apaļu torni. 1838. – 1843.g. pēc pilsdrupu novākšanas uzcēla tagadējo klasicisma stilā veidoto baznīcu. 2. pasaules kara laikā sagrāva baznīcas zvanu torni, līdz ar to bojā gāja ērģeles un altārglezna. Lielākie restaurācijas darbi baznīcā notikuši 1993.gadā. Līdz pat mūsdienām saglabājies gotiskā stilā veidots ozolkoka altāris, kancele un pults.
