Izkalti smilšakmeņos Līgatnes upes ielejā galvenokārt Ānfabrikas klintī, Alu iezī (Lustūzī), Rīgas kalna, Remdenkalna un Spriņģu kalna nogāzēs, kā arī Līgatnes kreisajā krastā tieši papīrfabrikas teritorijā, lejpus papīrfabrikas un Līgatnes lejtecē pie ietekas Gaujā. Šīs alām līdzīgās telpas ir piemērotas kartupeļu un dārzeņu uzglabāšanai. Lielākās daļas Līgatnes pagrabu l < 5 m, taču daļa pagrabu atzarojas no garām ejām. Toties Rīgas kalna, Lustūža klints, kā arī Līgatnes lejteces pagrabi joprojām tiek izmantoti.
