Jau 1792. gadā tika uzcelta mūra baznīca, kas ārēji ir salīdzinoši vienkārša, līdzīga daudzām citām Kurzemes baznīcām.
Valtaiķu luterāņu baznīca ir ievērojama dēļ savām skaistajām un smalki izstrādātajām 15 vitrāžām, kuras barons fon Manteifelis 20. gs. sākumā pēc Vilhelma Purvīša metiem pasūtījis Itālijā. Ap altāri izvietotas 4 vitrāžas, kas vēsta par bruņinieku tikumiem – drošsirdību, dievbijību, žēlsirdību un labdarību. Pārējās vitrāžas ataino notikumus no Jaunās derības.
Viens logs izmaksājis 700 zelta rubļu, salīdzinājumam — viena govs maksāja 3 zelta rubuļus.
Baznīcai ir grezns klasicisma stila interjers ar rokoko elementiem. Altārgleznas „Golgāta” (1833) autors ir Johans Lēberehts Eginks.
