Ķemeru nacionālais parks ir dibināts 1997.gadā, lai saglabātu dabas un kultūrvēsturiskās vērtības, kā arī lai aizsargātu minerālūdeņu un ārstniecisko dūņu veidošanās procesus. Parkā ir sastopami augi, kas ierakstīti Latvijas sarkanajā grāmatā, kā arī Eiropā retas un aizsargājamas putnu sugas – jūras ērgļi, ūpji, gandri, dzērves, un dažādi dzīvnieki. Parkā ir izveidoti 3 eko - maršruti: Lielā Ķemeru Tīreļa eko – taka (objekts tehnisku iemeslu dēļ apmeklētājiem ir slēgts!), Dumbrāja taka un Slokas ezera taka, kuras var izpētīt gan patstāvīgi, gan gida pavadībā.
