Maļinovas pagastā pareizticīgo dievnamus vairākkārtīgi piemeklējis smags liktenis. Sākumā Maļinovā bija sv. Aleksandra Ņevska koka baznīciņa, būvēta ampīra stilā, – tagadējās Šķeltovas baznīcas kopija. 19.gadsimta pirmajā pusē, kad tika būvēts Pēterburgas – Varšavasceļš, baznīciņu pārnesa uz ciemata centru. Te bija uzcelts skaists koka dievnams, kuru vēl tagad atceras vecākie ciemata iedzīvotāji. Otrā pasaules kara laikā baznīca nodega. Arī netālu uzceltā pravieša Elijas dievnamu iznīcināja uguns. Tagadējā Maļinovas Svētā Pravieša Elijas pareizticīgo baznīca ir pārbūvētā priestera māja. Pateicoties ticīgo ziedojumiem, tika uzbūvēts zvanu tornis, bet 2008.gadā tika iegādāti trīs jauni zvani. 2010. gadā, bijušās baznīcas atrašanās vietā uzbūvētais Maļinovas kultūras nams nodega. Pēc traģiskā gadījuma, pašreizējā Augšdaugavas novada dome pieņēma lēmumu ēku nodot Latvijas Pareizticīgās baznīcas valdījumā. Tagad draudze nodegušās ēkas vietā atjauno dievnamu.
