Baznīca celta 1936. gadā, projekta autors V. Šervinskis. Šī baznīca ir Latvijā mazākais pareizticīgo dievnams. Baznīca vienmēr ir bijusi atvērta ticīgajiem, jo Ikšķiles draudzē vienmēr bijuši cilvēki, kas turējuši godā garīgās vērtības un rūpējušies, lai baznīca visos laikos tiktu nosargāta un saglabāta.
