Aderkašu pareizticīgo draudze izveidojās 19.gs. vidū, bet dievnamu uzcēla 1867. gadā un dievkalpojumus noturēja latviešu valodā. Draudzē par priesteri ilgus gadus kalpoja pareizticīgais latvietis Jānis Līcītis (Straumīte), vairākkārt izdotās grāmatas „Pareizticīgā latvieša piezīmes” autors, kā arī K. Blodons, kas pazīstams kā pareizticīgo skolas grāmatu autors. Baznīca ir vietējas nozīmes arhitektūras piemineklis.
