The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) aims to help companies grow from a good and promising idea to global recognition in export markets. LIAA offers support to entrepreneurs looking for markets abroad and invites them to use the services offered by the Agency - to make new contacts at trade missions, national stands, matchmaking events, individual visits and export seminars. In the field of investment attraction, LIAA promotes the development of laws and regulations favourable to business development, as well as advocates stable tax policy, availability of skilled labour, infrastructure and support instruments.

We provide advice on services, opportunities for business development and support remotely or by appointment in person at the Customer Service Department (Pērses iela 2). LIAA provides services in 12 business incubators and 5 support units in the regions, offering entrepreneurs the opportunity to join a 6-month pre-incubation or incubation programme with a maximum duration of up to 4 years. The main task of LIAA in the field of tourism is to promote Latvia abroad as an excellent destination, as well as to stimulate the development of domestic tourism.

Cooperation with foreign companies is facilitated by LIAA's network of foreign economic representations, which also serves as a bridge for our companies to other markets - the United States, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, South Korea, France, Japan, Russia, Belarus, China, the Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Ukraine, Germany and Austria. A LIAA Innovation and Technology Representative Office has been established in Brussels.

Since our establishment in 1993, we have joined minds and ideas to promote Latvia's growth by tailoring state support instruments to the real needs of entrepreneurs, helping Latvian goods and services to find their way to export markets. By working on foreign investment projects, we stimulate faster development of the country to help new businesses to emerge and grow. An equally important area of LIAA's activity is to promote the development of innovative products by supporting start-ups and science commercialisation projects. We have tried to keep pace with global trends, assessing the effectiveness of our activities and comparing them with global best practice in order to incorporate new methods into our work. This has not gone unrecognised - LIAA has received several international awards, achieving World Class Agency status.
