Description
1908. gadā Ogres vasarnīcu kolonijas iemītnieki nolēma būvēt Meža kapelu ar 300 vietām. Tā bija koka būve un stilistiski atgādināja Dienvidčehijas un Šveices reģiona sakrālās būves. Pirmā pasaules kara laikā kapela nodega. 1927. gadā uz Meža kapelas drupām uzcēla baznīcu ar 422 sēdvietām. To būvēja pēc Haralda Kundziņa projekta vēlīnās neogotikas tradīcijās. Baznīcas zvanu (Ø 0,78 m, 200 kg) atlēja Švenna zvanu lietuvē Rīgā. To rotā uzraksts “Dzīvos saucu, mirušos apraudu. Ogres pilsētas baznīcai Ziemas svētkos. Liets no J.C. Schwenn. Rīga, 1930. g.”. Dievnamā regulāri notiek garīgās mūzikas koncerti. Baznīca ir vietējas nozīmes arhitektūras piemineklis.
