Historisma stila celtne sākta būvēt 1897.gadā un ir jaunākā no Ķemeru baznīcām. Tā ir 19,5 metru gara un 8,70 metrus plata trīsnavu ēka. Pamatakmens tika iesvētīts 1897.gada 1.augustā. Mēnesi vēlāk sākoties būvdarbiem, tie tika pabeigti 1899.gadā. Materiālus un līdzekļus baznīcas celšanai sagādājis kņazs Bogdans Oginskis. No viņa muižas Kaunas guberņā tika atvesti kokmateriāli, ko izmantoja koka baznīcas būvei. Par atpūtnieku saziedotajiem līdzekļiem aprīkoja baznīcas iekšpusi. Lielo altāri greznoja itāļu mākslinieka Budžari glezna „Svētais Jānis Kristītājs”, ko ziedoja Pēterburga, diemžēl Pirmā pasaules kara laikā kopā ar baznīcas zvanu tā pazuda 1899.gada 1.augustā dievnamu iesvētīja Rīgas Sāpju Dievmātes baznīcas prāvests Jānis Jacevičs.
Šim notikumam par godu kursēja vilciens Rīga - Ķemeri. Sezonas laikā dievkalpojumi notika katru svētdienu Rīgas priesteru vadībā.
Otrajā pasaules karā laikā dievnams tika pārvērsts par lazareti un zirgu stalli. Karam beidzoties, baznīcai bija nepieciešami lieli renovācija darbi, tomēr Padomju iestādes to neļāva. Tomēr gadu gaitā restaurācijas darbi pamazām norisinās, labojot griestus un grīdas, iegādājoties ērģeles un ozolkoka solus.
